Chemical waste which are more hazardous in nature compared to soil waste requires a drainage system with proper pipe connections to prevent accidental disengagement. The purpose-built drainage system comprises of only two types of connections: mechanical jointed for normal laboratory conditions and electrofusion (enfusion) for specific conditions.
